Bling!!!

Why are we women so fascinated with bright shinny things?

Did it first start when noticing the stars sparkling out of the deep dark skies, or while walking peacefully along a deserted beach observing the ocean waters shining brightly in the midday sun?

The running of your feet through the sand in a dry riverbed, experiencing the light reflecting back from the minute granules of sand and how they sparkle in the sun.

Do these childhood adventures enhance the whole magic of sparkling things? In adulthood, are these memories so imbedded in our subconscious that we succumb to these mysterious powers.

Why are we enthralled by stage performers and their sparkling costumes which dazzle us when caught in the lights, creating their magic as they reflects back to the audience?

Once you have experienced a brilliant theatrical performance, does this wonderful visual delight influence us so dramatically forever, that we try to re-capture that magic in our daily lives - as the saying goes, ‘Life is just a stage’.

So, on this stage, I confess to my love of sparkling things
and my overwhelming obsession to create a bit of bling.
